Seasonal Tips

Lawncare
You will not have to cut so frequently now as grass is growing less quickly. Don't cut it too short now - raise the blades on your mower and you will have a lusher, greener lawn.

Pots & Baskets
Replant your tired summer baskets and pots with cheerful Pansies and Violas, colourful grasses and ornamental cabbages. Small spring bulbs can be planted in with them for a stunning show in spring.

Composting
If you have room - have a compost bin! The best feed for your garden comes from home made composted matter. You can use your clippings from the lawn and soft shrubs as well as kitchen waste - no meat or bread!!

Cutting
Make sure your hedges are cut back in September and plants well staked or supported against strong winds.

Herbs
Now is a good time to harvest some herbs to dry for use during the winter. Small bunches can be tied and hung in a warm dry place.
